Comets in the midst of touring for 'Avatar'. A hugely triumphant ATP performance for Comets in a history of triumphant ATP performances. This is an audience taper bootleg by Ted Mattes with quality to match but all fire and fury duly captured none the less. Especially poignant is a 13 minute finale of 'Beneath The Ice Age' from the 'Field Recordings From The Sun' album featuring underground rock and noise heroes; Robert Beatty, Derek Stanton, Spencer Yeh and Chris Corsano joining Comets on stage to bring the house down in a stunning inferno of sound! Recorded 12/09/06.

Spent some time checking out Ben's 'Hexadic' system (more successful intellectually than in guitar playing results in my case!), so these early electric SOOA tracks were found at a very apposite moment and have an interesting contextual connection to the later work.

Very good live event. Sound quality is excelent. Hypnotisch geiles Schlagzeug, phänomenale Gitarre, heisser Bass, Leute nicht warten zugreifen, auch Germany braucht EARTHLESS und das unbedingt!!!! antagonismus

The demos that Rick Rubin rejected for what ultimately became Howlin Rain's most polished effort. These are loose, jammy and wild, like what might have happened after Comets on Fire's 'Avatar.' Lars Gotrich
